RM9 million collected for the Warriors Fund to assist Malaysian Army Veterans

The deep concern about the welfare of the Malaysian Army Veterans by individuals and corporate bodies have resulted in the collection of RM9,196,379.15 for the Warriors Fund Campaign 2019 (WFC) on Monday, 21st October. Among the highest contributors for the Warriors' Fund since it was launched on 19th September 2019 were ADAP 4orty Global Sdn. Bhd, Yayasan Al-Bukhary and Webstar Group.

The contributors of the WFC were celebrated in a Charity Dinner hosted by the Department of Veteran Army Affairs Malaysian Armed Forces (JHEV) with Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah Mohd. Ali as the patron. She was accompanied by Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad at the prestigious event held in Dewan Perkasa, Wisma Perwira, MAF,Ministry of Defence here on Monday. Minister of Defence, Mohamad Sabu said, the campaign was aimed to collect RM6 million since it was launched in September until February 2020 but the amount was far ahead from the target, and contributions were also made at several events held across the country.

"The Warriors Fund will be for the welfare of the MAF Veterans and the handicapped Veterans, their families, single mothers and also helping those involved in natural disasters, wives of Veterans living in poor conditions and providing education and medical assistance to the Veterans' children who are in need," said Mohamad Sabu in a statement here. Mohamad also urges members of the society to contribute to the fund as an appreciation and recognition to the sacrifices of the Malaysian warriors to the country.
